Marketing & Communications Manager

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for the development of marketing and communications strategies for Silver Lining (SLM) clients. This individual will oversee client management, as well as the development of goals, strategies, and implementation plans to execute comprehensive sales & marketing campaigns (including social and digital promotions) that generate revenue for SLM clients.
The incumbent will develop marketing programs that strategically position our clients as leaders in their respective fields while establishing SLM’s own status as an industry leader. The Marketing and Communications Manager will also oversee the launch and management of new products, services, and associated brands to meet profitability goals and targets.

  • Initiate research, development, and implementation of new marketing programs, including direct mail, BtoB and BtoC sales tactics, social media marketing, events, advertisements, sales tools and other initiatives.

SPECIFIC JOB DUITES:

  • Develop and promote branding initiatives consistent with corporate business goals and objectives.
  • Maximize brand value through the development of ancillary revenue streams and new opportunities.
  • Ensure all products, services, and other offerings conform to brand identity and conduct ongoing brand management.
  • Work with Creative Services staff and other department heads to produce marketing collateral in accordance with brand messages.
  • Develop marketing plans within budget requirements.
  • Collaborate with all departments to identify internal and external customer needs.
  • Communicate and negotiate with promotional partners as needed for joint marketing activities.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on similar industry activities; make recommendations based on findings/opportunities discovered.
  • Develop, manage and execute an annual strategic marketing and communications plan to span across all communication media (online and offline) and reach appropriate target audiences, based upon specific performance goals.
  • Evaluate the success of various communication strategies and provide and implement recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyze potential new products/media to enhance marketing/communications initiatives.
  • Develop, manage and produce materials to create a cohesive image and message for print and all offline communication vehicles.
  • Ensure that all materials are developed and distributed according to an appropriate timeline.
  • Oversee the development, management and maintenance of all online communication vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor/Master’s in marketing, advertising, sales, communications or business administration, or equivalent.
  • 3 – 5 years of direct work experience in a marketing management capacity.
  • 2 – 3 years of work including the handling of corporate communications, original writing, and editing.
  • Agency experience is an asset.
  • Excellent understanding and familiarity with brand building and brand management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in internet marketing techniques, technologies, and solutions.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple client accounts at one time while prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build and manage strategic relationships with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Big picture thinker with an ability to think strategically while paying attention to smaller details.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Adobe Suite is an asset.
