Before I go into what power seo ranker does, I first want to talk about just where people are going wrong with their backlinking strategies.

A backlink has a purpose, it doesn't just serve as something to give your website improved rankings and traffic, it provides the person who clicks on the link, a path to additional information that they are promised when they were invited to click through the link. If you have done everything correctly, then the website visitor will find what they are a looking for and they will be happy. Google will see that the website content you are linking from is relevant to the content that it is linking to and be happy to reward you accordingly.

Where people get it wrong is that they link to any old website whos content bears no relation to their own websites content and expect Google to give them credit for the link. Sorry, times have changed and what was once an accepted backlinking practice, simply doesn't cut it anymore.

It doesn't matter about how many backlinks you have anymore, its all about the quality and relevance. You can have a 1000 backlinks to your website but if they are not relevant, they are just useless and will count for nothing. I would rather have 10 quality, relevant backlinks that Google will give me credit for, than 1000 that they will give me nothing for.

Before looking for backlinks, take into consideration the quality and relevance of the website you are linkling from and be sure that your link provides further information that is relevant to the subject. Remember, its not about how many, its about quality.
